It is with great sadness that we must inform you of the recent death of Andrew Gosling. He died on the 28th February 2024. 

Dr Andrew J Gosling joined the staff of Solihull School in 1976. He had a distinguished and successful career in the school and would have been happy for it to continue for many more years had ill health not forced him to retire in 1999. Andrews main responsibility was teaching mathematics but he was also involved in many other aspects of school life, Snowdonia School, Terriers (which he ran for a number of years), games, especially cross-country and athletics, and co-ordinating the operation of university admissions.

All his efforts over the years have been appreciated by staff and pupils alike, both inside and outside the classroom. He was professional and approachable to pupils and had a good sense of humour, a colleague whom teaching staff could confidently rely.
