Dear Parents, Carers, colleagues & Governors, 

I’m delighted to share with you that our Prep School has been chosen as a winner of a Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots Awards 2025. In recognition of how the children’s charitable giving and humanitarian projects create a positive impact in our world, we have been granted the prestigious Compassion In Action award. The judges were ‘deeply impressed by the children’s creativity, teamwork, and the inspiring results of their projects.’

Mrs Penney and Mrs Harper have done a great job in leading the way and we are very grateful for the passion they have engendered across the school in creating real, meaningful change for communities, wildlife and the environment. 

There are many things about our Prep School that we can be very proud and of those, our charitable giving is a shining light. Thank you for the wonderful support you give the children in bringing about tangible, life-changing outcomes for those less fortunate as often as they do. 

We, and they, will of course continue doing such work locally, nationally and across the world regardless of recognition. Meanwhile, do please allow yourselves to feel a warm glow today; our community’s efforts have been recognised as being exemplary by the Jane Goodall Institute UK and, most importantly, deep down, we know that they matter – a lot.
