Solihull School News |
Dear Solihull Community,
We hope you are all well and that you are looking forward to the summer months.
On return from our sabbatical in Sri Lanka at the end of March 2024, a number of people we spoke to mentioned that they would love to consider making good use of their skills and experiences by volunteering, but didn't know where to start.
With that in mind, we then put together an initiative offering truly transformative volunteering opportunities in Sri Lanka, with the help of trusted contacts on the ground. Your native English speaking, education, professional and personal skills, and much more, would be of great benefit to one of the country's most disenfranchised communities whilst offering you a very memorable and immersive experience along the way. In every sense it's a charitable win-win, with unbound potential of long-term benefits for both beneficiaries and volunteers.
To explain more, we've put together an online flipbook with the help of the wonderful people at the Tea Leaf Trust, who work across the stunningly scenic tea plantation region. Please click on the link here to find out more:
Volunteering opportunities in Sri Lanka for friends & alumni of Solihull School
Should this be of interest to you or someone you know at any point going forward, please don't hesitate to contact info@tealeaftrust.com to find out more. Also, having visited the Trust's HQ in Maskeliya, we're happy to share our experiences of meeting the amazing team and students there, at any point. There are a whole variety of possibilities at the Tea Leaf Trust that may prove to be a good fit for those interested.
We loved what we saw and heard so we are reaching out to the broader community of our great school, to shine a light on first-rate volunteering opportunities that continue to make a very real and lasting difference for many.
Best wishes,
Mark & Donna Penney (Solihull Prep School)
