Leavers of 2023 return to School for their 21st Birthday Celebration

Over 70 members of the Class of 2023 returned to school to celebrate their 21st birthdays, reconnect with friends and teachers, and enjoy a sunny afternoon on the Masters' Lawn.

More than 70 former students from the Class of 2023 returned to school on Saturday 5 September to celebrate a special milestone, joined by around 10 members of staff who taught and supported them during their time at school.

Held on the Masters' Lawn on a beautiful sunny afternoon, the event provided the perfect opportunity for old friends and former teachers to come together and mark their 21st birthdays.

Guests were welcomed by Headmaster Charles Fillingham, who spoke about life at the school today and shared updates on recent developments and achievements across the community. Sean Morgan, Head of the Senior School, then reflected on the Class of 2023's time at school, recalling some of the memorable moments from their final year, including outstanding musical productions, a successful cricket season and the many achievements that helped define their cohort. The formalities concluded with Deputy Head of School, Piers Kemp (Shenstone 2012-2023), cutting the impressive 21st birthday chocolate brownie cake and marking the occasion in style.

The event offered a wonderful opportunity for former pupils to reconnect, share memories and hear about each other's journeys since leaving school. Conversations flowed easily as friends reminisced about their school days while exchanging stories about university life, careers, travel and other adventures they have embarked upon over the past few years.

One of the joys of the afternoon was seeing so many familiar faces back at school. The Masters' Lawn was filled with laughter as former classmates picked up where they had left off, demonstrating the strong bonds formed during their time at school.

A key part of what makes alumni events like this so special is the presence of staff. Former pupils were delighted to be reunited with their teachers, many of whom they had not seen since leaving school. The opportunity to chat, reminisce and share life updates created some truly meaningful moments throughout the afternoon.

The event was a fantastic celebration of the Class of 2023 and a reminder that, while pupils may leave school, they remain valued members of the school community. We look forward to welcoming them back again for future alumni events and hearing more about their achievements in the years ahead.
