Saturday, 20 June 2026 marked a truly special occasion as over 40 alumni from the Classes of 1976, 1986 and 1996 returned to Solihull School to celebrate 50, 40 and 30 years since leaving. The afternoon brought a wonderful sense of reconnection as classmates gathered, sharing stories and rediscovering familiar bonds, while the Executive Headmaster extended a special thank you to the Old Sils who had travelled from near and far, particularly those joining from New York, Germany and Belfast, with some stepping back onto campus for the first time since leaving.

Guests were also welcomed by the Headmaster of the Senior School, Sean Morgan, before enjoying tours of the School and a trip down memory lane, revisiting familiar corridors and sharing stories of school days gone by. The event was made even more memorable by the presence of former staff members, including David Aldis, Martin Ayers, Arthur Brooker, Jill Godsall and Brent Wormald.

One guest reflected on the day:

“What a wonderful day! Thank you so much to all of the team. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with a long trip down memory lane. The School is terrific. If only I had been born later and could enjoy it even more! The children of today, we oldies say, don’t realise how lucky they are and when looking at the current generation at Solihull School, this definitely rings true. I shall forever be proud to be an Old Sol.”
