An open invitation to join Team Solihull – Supporting the New Teacher Training Centre & Community Hub in Maskeliya, Sri Lanka
Over the course of three previous Team Solihull ultra‑challenges, our community has raised over £300,000 to support Sri Lanka’s poorest families through livelihood and healthcare projects across the island.
Each time, members of our community past and present have signed up as challenge takers and fundraisers, and each time great good has come of it.
Please see this as our invitation and encouragement for Solihull alumni to join us on our next Team Solihull Ultra Challenge on 6 June 2026 – our biggest yet! Beginning at school, we will have over 100 community members pick up the tow path at Catherine-de-Barnes and follow it all the way to Stratford-upon-Avon on a beautiful 36KM stretch of canal across the heart of England. Food, refreshments, good cheer and great company will be provided throughout.
As a school, we are passionate in our support of this project. We want to help the Tea Leaf Trust provide a pipeline of highly skilled teachers from tea plantation families, who will in turn educate thousands of young children and young adults otherwise stuck in perpetual and generational poverty. You can read more about the key aims and outcomes of the project here: https://tealeaftrust.com/teacher-training-centre/.
If you, your friend/s or loved ones would like to be part of this, we’d be delighted to have you join the team. Please do consider signing up here: https://www.trybooking.com/uk/FWJF . You would play a big part in doing something special.
