FUTURES Friday Seminar welcomed alumnus Paul Adams (Jago 1981–1990), who returned to share insights into the diverse career opportunities within the tech industry, from sales and marketing to engineering, product development, security, and more. He emphasised that career paths can begin before or after university, often shaped by personal interests and timing. The aim was to give pupils a head start in navigating this dynamic sector.
Paul, currently SVP of GTM Strategy & Operations at Sitecore, leads global go-to-market strategy, revenue operations, and cross-functional execution across regions and product lines. With extensive experience in the digital experience and software sectors, he offered practical advice drawn from his own career journey.
Over 30 pupils, from Thirds to Upper Sixth, attended the seminar, eager to learn from Paul’s expertise and enthusiasm. The session sparked thoughtful questions and provided valuable guidance for those considering a future in technology.
Our FUTURES team works hard to produce a varied programme of FUTURES Friday Seminars, designed to appeal to a broad range of pupils. We have a programme of FUTURES Friday Seminars, and so if you are interested in taking part, Mrs Chillcott would be grateful to hear from you: ChillcottR@SolSch.org.uk. There is no need to be an experienced public speaker, or particularly senior in your organisation, as what we are looking for is a taster of ‘real life’ within various sectors.
