Class of 1985 Reunion: A Day of Memories and Friendships Rekindled

Saturday, 11 October 2025 marked a truly special occasion as over 50 alumni from the Class of 1985 returned to Solihull School for an unforgettable reunion. The afternoon was filled with laughter, nostalgia, and heartfelt conversations as classmates reconnected after decades apart, some stepping back onto campus for the first time in 40 years.

Guests enjoyed a warm welcome from the Executive Headmaster, Charles Fillingham and Headmaster of the Senior School, Sean Morgan followed by tours of the school and a trip down memory lane, revisiting familiar corridors and sharing stories of school days gone by. The event was made even more memorable by the presence of former staff members, including David Aldis, Martin Ayers, Arthur Brooker, Jill Godsall, Phil Griffiths, Bob and Sue Melling. Jill fondly described those years as her “golden era” at the School.

The reunion highlighted the enduring bonds formed during those formative years. Many attendees expressed gratitude for the effort and resources invested in creating such a meaningful experience. “It was wonderful to see so many friendships rekindled,” said Lynn Moseley, Head of Alumni Relations. “This was one of the most memorable reunions we’ve hosted.”

The celebrations didn’t end there. Many guests continued the evening at a local hostelry, where conversations flowed late into the night, proving that the bonds of friendship formed at Solihull truly stand the test of time.
