Festival of Languages at our Senior School

Sophie Burtenshaw, Frankie Deehan, Gwynneth Horbury, Grace Sparrow, Cerys Stansfield, Ben Stockdale and Tara Warrington

On Saturday 22nd March 2025 we proudly hosted our first Festival of Languages at our Senior School Warwick Road campus - an inspiring day of language learning and cultural exchange that welcomed over 300 pupils, parents, Old Silhillians and visiting schools from across the country.

The festival, led by Paul Morgan, Head of MLF, was a lively and engaging day, filled with seminars, workshops, and performances designed to showcase the importance of languages in connecting people and broadening horizons, and encourage young people to study a Modern Foreign Language.

Thank you to all who attended and took part. A special mention to our Old Silhillians who travelled back to school to support this event, Sunny Kaul (Pole 1982 - 1989), Professor Robert Vilain (Shenstone 1976 - 1983), Sophie Burtenshaw (Windsor 2013 - 2024), Frankie Deehan (Fetherston 2017 - 2024), Gwynneth Horbury (Jago 2011 - 2018), Grace Sparrow (Shenstone 2015 - 2022), Cerys Stansfield (Jago 2010 - 2018), Ben Stockdale (Shenstone 2014 - 2023) and Tara Warrington (Pole 2013 - 2022). We thanks our Senior School Dance students for their flamenco performance, our Prep School Samba Band for their colourful and lively musical interlude, and superb solo vocalist Upper Fifth pupil Yeva who sang in Ukrainian … and the flag themed tulips!
