Solihull School Rugby Reunion: A Day to Remember
On Saturday 7th December 2024, Solihull School had the pleasure of welcoming back the 1st XV team from 1990-1991 for a special Rugby Reunion. Adam Reuben (Shenstone 1982-1991) and James Vertigen (Shenstone 1980-1991) did a fantastic job of ‘getting the band back together.’
The day kicked off with refreshments in the Alan Lee Pavilion, where Sean Morgan, Head of Senior School, gave a warm welcome speech. This was followed by a nostalgic tour of the school, allowing everyone to revisit old haunts and explore new additions.
Despite Storm Darragh forcing the cancellation of all rugby matches, the spirits remained high. A delicious hot buffet lunch was served in the Refectory, accompanied by plenty of drinks. The afternoon was filled with catching up and sharing memories before the group retired to a local hostelry in Solihull for more reminiscing and laughter.
It was a day filled with camaraderie, fond memories, and the joy of reconnecting with old friends. Here’s to many more reunions in the future!
