News from Solihull Alumni |
Having discovered that many former pupils have relocated or retired to the South West or are studying there, the Headmaster, Charles Fillingham, his wife Clare, Lucy and Lynn decided to take a road trip to Devon and Cornwall. Our first stop was to visit Michael Day (Windsor 1952 - 1962) and his wife Anne, in their beautiful home near Lostwithiel.
After enjoying a delicious afternoon tea with them, it was back on the road to Truro, where the following day we were joined by a group of Saint Martin's Old Girls and Old Sils for lunch at The Alverton.
On Sunday we started the journey home again, stopping in Exeter. There was an age range of forty years among the guests who assembled at Winslade Manor for Sunday lunch. Seven former pupils currently studying at Exeter University joined some of our more senior OS and SMOGs to be greeted by the hotel’s general manager, Matt Williamson (Jago 1999 - 2006).
