Headmaster Charles Fillingham is delighted to invite Old Silhillians, Saint Martin's Old Girls, former staff, and both former and current parents to the 465 London Dinner, which will be held at the House of Commons.
The evening, part of the programme marking the school’s 465th anniversary, will begin with a drinks reception r 6.45pm in the Terrace Pavillion, overlooking the Thames, followed by dinner in the Churchill Room.
We are delighted to confirm that our after-dinner speaker will be Simon, The Rt Hon The Lord Case CVO PhD. Simon joined the House of Lords in July 2025 as a Crossbench peer having served in the UK’s public service for two decades. He was Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Civil Service for four and half years, serving four Prime Ministers through the COVID and Ukraine crises and reign change. As Head of the Civil Service, Simon led the UK’s half a million civil servants. Prior to this, Simon held several roles including, Permanent Secretary in No 10, Private Secretary to HRH The Duke of Cambridge, and Principal Private Secretary to the Prime Minister. He was also on the Brexit negotiation team and a Director at GCHQ.
Today, Lord Case holds several advisory positions in private equity and AI companies, is the independent chair of Team Barrow, and a non-executive director of the UK Ministry of Defence. He is also an Ambassador for the RAF Charitable Trust and the Patchwork Foundation.
It promises to be a very special and highly entertaining evening. Tickets are limited and cost £95.00 - to include the drinks reception, three course dinner and wine. Old Sils and SMOGs who are aged 25 or under can purchase tickets at a reduced rate of £50.00. See payments details below.
