As part of our programme of FUTURES support for our pupils, we are holding a FUTURES Fair on the afternoon of Wednesday 8 July 2026.  This will be an opportunity for pupils in our Lower Fifth and Lower Sixth to explore a variety of possible career options.  Pupils will attend a series of presentations on different professions, during which they will hear more about the lived experience of, and routes into, a particular occupation.

To make this work, I am reaching out to the alumni to seek people who would be happy to share their experiences with our pupils. There is no requirement to be an expert public speaker, or particularly senior in your field; all we are looking for are people who can talk from the heart about their career, and answer questions from pupils who are exploring their futures. 

Your commitment would be from 2.00pm – 4.00pm on the afternoon of the FUTURES Fair and would involve giving the same presentation to different groups of pupils throughout the afternoon, up to a maximum of six times.  Audio-visual presentations are welcome but not required, and volunteers will be briefed fully in advance.

If you are interested in taking part, I would be most grateful if you would sign up via the I'm Interested button, outlining your Employer, Industry, Job Title and provide a brief summary of what your talk would focus on.  As we are looking for a wide range of careers to be represented, I cannot guarantee your participation at this event.  If you are happy to offer support to our Sixth Form pupils more generally, as well as to our younger alumni, please may you also consider volunteering to be a Career Mentor on Solihull Community and update your personal profile in the Career Mentor section here.
